Hey guys, noticed the site is getting a lot of attention so I'm going start getting serious. I'm going to make the tutorials a lot more easier to read. And Im going to start making example pictures, and I'm even considering making videos for some. I'm not sure though so just thought I'd let you know. I'm also working on a side project for another site so this page might not be updated everday but I'll try. For any suggestions please comment.

70's Retro

Things Needed:

Text Tool

Gaussian Blur

Stroke

Polygonal Marquee

Ok Let's get started. First go to this picture and right click the picture and select “Copy Image”

1.Now go into photoshop and open a new file and the dimensions should automatically be there because you copied the picture. Now in the file hit “Ctrl”+”V” This is a hotkey for the paste action. Now you should have this picture in photoshop. (This is a handy technique that can be used on any image) Now if it didn't work properly think back. All you have to do is copy the picture through the internet by right clicking it and selecting “copy image”.

2.Next we select the polygonal marquee(or any other marquee you think is easier). You want to click an outline around the Buddha. Like in example A-1. Once outlined right click (with the marquee tool) on the Buddha and select “Layer Via Cut”. This means that the outlined image will be pasted into another layer. See example A-2

3.Another move we'll make is the “Outer Glow” effect. Once you have you

r Buddha cut and pasted into another layer go to “Layer”-> “Layer Properties”->”Outer Glow”. Then you will be presented with a box with a bunch of options. Just do yours exactly like you see mine in example A-3.( the color is #7acb06)

4.For the finishing touches on the picture are to go around the edges of the Buddha with the blur tool so it doesn't look so pixelized.

5.Last but DEFINETLY not least, the background. This is the simplest part. Go to the layer with the background and simply go to “Filter”->”Blur”->”Gaussian Blur” then use “1.2%” and click ok.

6.Now if you only want to do this with images your done (Hope You Liked It!) But now we'll finish this up with text.

7.Go to your text tool, and click and then type something you like, I used “PS Buddha”. Then goto “Layer”->”Layer Properties”->”Outer Glow” and use the the settings in example A-4

8.Do the same but instead of Outer Glow goto “Stroke” and use the settings in example A-5.

Electric Ice Text

Welcome back guys! I know it has been awhile but here is another tutorial.

This one is called “Electric Ice” I named it that because I have no idea what else I could name it.

Let's Get started!

Things Needed

1.Text Tool, Franklin Gothic

2.Reticulation

3.Find Edges

4.Glowing Edges

Ok let's start by opening a new file, preferably 500 width x 100 height.
Now lets take the text tool and make it's color black. Type something short like “Chris” or “Marge” what ever you desire, In this case I have chosen a more obvious choice, PS Buddha.
After typed go to Filter->Sketch->Reticulation then match these settings.
After that go to Filter->Stylize->Find Edges
Next go to Filter->Stylize-> Glowing Edges and match these settings again.
Finally press “CTRL + U” and change it to any color but make it bright.
This is optional but fill in the background with black and there you go!

Oil Painting

With this technique you can turn any image into an oilpainting.

Things Needed:
Find Edges
Levels
Desaturation

First I found this picture at Here (Th anks to the author for the pic!) Now, load it up onto Photoshop. The absolute first thing you want to do is click on the layer on the layers box and press Ctrl+J two times. This will give you 2 more duplicated layers.

2.Shift+Ctrl+U. This will desaturate the image, that means the image will become only black and white. Doing that select Filter->Stylize->Find Edges. This will make the picture look a little blocky and a little blurry, but thats ok thats how it is supposed to look. By the way, the image int he background of the picture is just to give it alittle more color.

3.. After that stay on the top layer and change the levels, that can be done by clicking Image->Adjustments->Levels. Make the levels something like this

4. Finally Select the top layer and go to the "Blending Box" or also know as the little box on the layers box that says "normal" Click on the down arrow on the blending box and select "Soft Light" and there you have it. Your very own oil painting. This can be used on most images. Hope you liked it!

Final Product

Angel Blur Effect

This is a pretty cool effect I found. This gives any picture an angel halo effect.

Things needed: Gaussian blur, Lens Blur
1. Take the
picture and load it on photoshop. The absolute first thing you want to do is make sure you dupilcate the layer. You can do that simply by right cliking the layer and clicking "Duplicate Layer".
2.Now take the duplicated layer and go to "Filter"->"Render"->"Lens Flare" and place the light source right around the left corner overhead the building. Also try have something close to these levels.
3.Go to the layers box and click on the duplicated layer and go to the "Blending selection" on the layers box and select "Overlay". And you'll already notice a slight halo effect.
4. Go back to your original layer without the lens flare and duplicate that one again. this time your going to have to go to "Filter"->"Blur"->"Lens Blur" and try to match these settings. 5. Then take that layer and set the blending mode to "Screen"
6.Finally of you want to add more, Go to the gradient tool and set the gradient to this .Now all you have to do is move the "opacity" of the gradient to 68% and make the blending mode "OverLay" From there click and drag the mouse diagonally 2 times across the screen, and there you go, your very own halo effect. "Now for my next stunt, the great disappearing act!"

Ahh yes, this is a good old basic trick that new and old should learn. If you don't know it i suggest you read this one.

Things You need: Clone Stamp Tool, Blur Tool.

1.I found this pic on www.sxc.hu . Now what we are going to do is make this hot air balloon tottally disappear. Type in as the name "Hot Air Balloon Trick" then copy this i mage .
2.Now paste the image onto the new canvas. After doing that find the button that is called "Clone Stamp Tool" . The icon looks like a stamp, just so you have an easier time finding it. What this tool does is by clicking the "Alt" button on a portion of the picture you can paint that section of the picture in a different area of the picture. Sounds complicated but it's very simple.
3.We are going to click while holding "Alt" on the bottom section of the picture on the sky, and drag over the balloon where you would think there is sky not being taken up by the clouds.
4.Now You should have something like the picture down below. That is if you did do it correctly. Ok so now , you may be wondering, "dang, those clouds are gonna' be hard!" . If you are well, guess again my friend. The clouds in this picture have relatively the same tone of grey. This is easy on a photoshopper because it blends a little bit better.
5.Now we are going to use the same technique we used as in step 4, but this time we are selecting the clouds. Simply pick a part of the cloud that has a color that would blend in nicely with the other portion of the cloud. Preferably the part right next to the balloon. Now drag around the area inside of the balloon to make it disappear.
6.As you can see in this picture, is it looks like almost nothign is there at all! I left a little left of the balloon just to show you how easy that was.
7.Now you want to get rid of the whole balloon and leave nothing left but the sky and clouds. If it is a bit rough around the edges use your "blur" tool and smooth that out.

Congrats!!!! you have successfully learned a new technique that can be used for almost anything. Remember just look for easily replicable patterns such as clouds or planks of wood on a deck.
